Morocco in 8 days: from the Sahara to the blue city

A week to experience Morocco from north to south with a group of travellers from Valencia: the Atlantic coast of Asilah, the buzz of Marrakech, the kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, a night under the stars in the dunes of Merzouga, the medieval medina of Fez and the blue streets of Chefchaouen.

We meet at Tangier airport and from there the whole route is by private transport, with a coordinator from start to finish.

A night in the Sahara desert

The highlight of the trip: a camel ride of about 3 hours through the Erg Chebbi dunes, sunset in the Sahara, a night in a desert camp with dinner, a party and live music, and sunrise over the dunes.

Marrakech and Aït Ben Haddou

Guided tour of Marrakech: Jemaa el-Fna square, the souks and the Koutoubia, plus a free afternoon. Then we cross the Atlas to the ksar of Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and filming location for Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

Fez and Chefchaouen

Guided tour of the medina of Fez, the world’s largest car-free urban area, with its famous tanneries. We finish in Chefchaouen, the blue city of the Rif, perfect for strolling and photos.

Day-by-day itinerary

• Day 1: arrival in Tangier (~23:00) and transfer to Asilah
• Day 2: Asilah → Casablanca → Marrakech
• Day 3: guided tour of Marrakech and free evening
• Day 4: Marrakech → Aït Ben Haddou → Dadès Valley
• Day 5: Dadès → Merzouga desert, camel ride and night in camp
• Day 6: sunrise in the desert → Fez
• Day 7: guided tour of Fez → Chefchaouen
• Day 8: Chefchaouen → Tangier airport (~15:00)

What to bring

A passport valid for at least 6 months, comfortable clothes and something warm for the desert night, a scarf or turban for sun and sand, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, a power bank and dirhams or a card for personal expenses.

⚠️ Important: check before booking whether your nationality needs a visa for Morocco. If you can’t enter because of a visa issue, the booking is not refunded.

FAQ

Are flights included?

No. The flight from Valencia to Tangier and the return from Tangier are at your own cost. After booking we’ll tell you the recommended flight the coordinator is taking so you can travel together.

What does the price include?

All private transport in Morocco, 7 nights in triple or quadruple rooms, breakfast and dinner (except in Marrakech, Chefchaouen and Asilah), guided tours in Marrakech and Fez, a camel ride of about 3 hours, a night in a desert camp with a party and live music, coordinator and travel insurance.

Do I need a visa for Morocco?

EU citizens and many Latin American nationalities don’t need a visa for tourist stays, but it depends on your nationality. Check before booking: if you can’t enter because of a visa issue, the booking is not refunded.

Can I join if I’m travelling alone?

Yes, most travellers come on their own. You’ll share a room with other group members, and we set up a WhatsApp group before the trip so you can get to know each other.
