Xàtiva and its castle

Xàtiva castle stretches across two peaks of the Serra Vernissa and is one of the most spectacular fortifications in the Mediterranean. From its walls you get unbeatable views over the town and the surrounding farmland. Xàtiva has centuries of history: it’s where paper making was introduced to Europe, and the birthplace of the powerful Borgia family, which gave the world two popes.

Bocairent, a medieval maze and the Covetes dels Moros

Bocairent is one of those villages that seem frozen in time: narrow cobbled streets climbing the hillside, houses hanging over the ravine and a unique medieval atmosphere.

The Covetes dels Moros are narrow; if you’re claustrophobic you can still enjoy the village without going in.
