Join the waiting listTwenty minutes from the city centre, the Albufera natural park is the birthplace of paella and the setting for some of the most beautiful sunsets in the Mediterranean. We sail the lake in a traditional boat as the sun goes down over the water, then finish in El Palmar, the village of the rice fields, with a wood-fired Valencian paella.
El Palmar sits on an island of rice paddies and canals inside the lagoon. Its restaurants have been cooking paella over orange-wood fires for generations, and it’s the best place to understand what a real Valencian paella is: rice, chicken, rabbit, green beans and saffron — no seafood, no chorizo.
It’s our simplest trip and the favourite of newcomers: Erasmus students and expats who want to understand what the Albufera is (and what real paella tastes like) while meeting other people. Come solo, leave with a group.
Timings follow the sunset time on each date; the exact time is in your booking confirmation.
