Red Canyon of Teruel: hiking in Aragon’s Wild West

On the outskirts of Teruel lies one of Spain’s most surprising landscapes: the Red Canyon (Cañón Rojo), a maze of ravines, badlands and clay walls in shades of red, orange and white that looks like a western movie set.

We take you from Valencia by private coach to hike it with a coordinator and finish the day strolling through Teruel’s Mudéjar centre.

The route: clay walls and dizzying viewpoints

After the hike, a walk around Teruel: the Neo-Mudéjar Staircase, the UNESCO World Heritage Mudéjar towers and Plaza del Torico. Back to Valencia in the late afternoon.
